Der Ritterhof Inn takes the issue of safeguarding your privacy very seriously. We have created this Privacy Policy in order to better familiarize you with the information we collect from our hotel guests and web site visitors, and the way in which Der Ritterhof Inn uses this information to better serve the needs of our guests.
What is Personal Information?
The term “Personal Information” refers to any information that can be used to identify you as an individual. It can include, among other things, your name, telephone number, physical address, email address & credit card number used to process your reservation.
Why is Personal Information collected?
1. To Provide Superior Customer Service to our Guests
Personal Information is collected to assist us in making your reservation and providing the services you request at our hotel to ensure we meet your needs while you are staying with us.
By keeping certain stay-related Personal Information on files, such as information regarding guest history and itemized spending, guests of the Der Ritterhof Inn have the ability to confirm prior transactions and reconcile statements or invoices.
2. To Keep Our Guests Informed
We may use the Personal Information you provide to send you newsletters regarding our hotel and to advise you of promotions or to inform you of offers or other information that may be of interest to you, to communicate with you in regard to your reservations, questions, or concerns.
3. For Marketing Research
Finally, we may wish to contact Guests to conduct surveys or focus groups to receive your views of our hotel and service delivery. Such information may be collected by us or by a third party under contract with us, and they will be contractually required to protect your Personal Information as explained below. You will have an opportunity to opt out of marketing-related emails.
Occasionally we will combine information from a number of Guests to better understand trends and Guest expectations. When this occurs, all identifiers are removed, and the aggregate information cannot be linked to any specific Guests.
How is Personal Information Collected?
1. When Making a Reservation
A. On Our Web Site
If you decide that you would like to make a reservation at our hotel, you will be linked to our reservation booking site, which is hosted and managed by our partner. Although it appears to be part of our site, the reservation site is, in fact, provided by our partner, which provides an automated reservation and distribution system to us, directly or indirectly through their own partners and GDS associations. You can search for rates and availability at our hotels without providing any Personal Information.
Visitors to Derritterhof.com who elect to make reservations online will be required to complete a reservation profile the first time they make a reservation. When you create a reservation profile, you will be asked to provide specific Personal Information, including your name, address, and contact information, as well as certain guarantee and deposit information to secure your reservation, such as your credit card number. The transmittal of your Personal Information shall constitute your acknowledgment and agreement to the terms and conditions contained in this Privacy Policy.
Your credit card number will be verified using a checking sequence, but we do not authorize any payments at this point. Once your reservation is confirmed, Der Ritterhof Inn will be sent all the reservation information. From this point, the information is sent to the Der Ritterhof Inn in exactly the same way as if you called us directly or if your travel agent made the reservation.
Due to the personal nature of the information you give when making a reservation through our website, the reservation system is secure, such that your credit card number is protected with the most sophisticated encryption technology available and is transmitted on a private network.
B. Through our Reservation Office at the hotel:
Reservations can also be made by calling our hotel directly. When you make a reservation, we may ask you for Personal Information such as your name, address, telephone number, and method of payment. We may also obtain from you any room preferences or special requests. Confirmation of your reservation will be provided to you, generally by e-mail, directly from the hotel.
In addition, we may retain the content of any document (including letters, comment cards, electronic documents such as e-mails, and other similar forms of communication) that you send us before, during, or following your stay. This information may be shared with employees of the hotel but will not be shared with any third party.
How do we store Personal Information?
1. At the Hotel
Der Ritterhof Inn goes to great measures to ensure that all Personal Information is kept in a secure location, be it a database or filing cabinet. Furthermore, we take steps to ensure that only designated individuals have access to this information.
2. In Our Guest Reservation System/Property Management System
In order to serve you better, we also store certain guest information in our Guest Reservation System, which is a secure customer database. The stored information includes guests' names, addresses, phone numbers, and credit card numbers. We may also store certain information regarding your service preferences. In order to serve you better. We also store other transaction information, including the number of stays you have had at the Der Ritterhof Inn and the number of nights of each stay.
3. In Our Marketing Database
Der Ritterhof Inn maintains a database of Guest information which is used for marketing, promotion, and research purposes. Guests will only receive such information if they have provided permission on their Hotel registration form, on the Der Ritterhof Inn website, or in some other form. Any information sent provides clear notice of how to discontinue receiving promotional materials.
What information is not secure?
When you use our website to book your reservations, your online interaction with us is protected from eavesdropping using the highest-level encryption technology based on the browser you use. In order to ensure your privacy and the protection of the information you choose to share with us, we allow only encrypted communications from all of our web forms.
It is important to note that any e-mail communication is not secure. This is a risk inherent in the use of e-mail. Please be aware of this when requesting information or sending forms to us by e-mail (for example, from the Contact Us section of our website). We recommend that you do not include any confidential information (i.e. credit card information) when using e-mail. For your protection, our e-mail responses to you will not include any confidential information.
Finally, to be prudent, please be sure to always close your browsers when you are done using a form or the reservation site. Although the session will terminate after a short period of inactivity, it is best to close your browsers immediately upon completion since, while you are logged on, it is easier for someone to attempt to get access to your profile.
Der Ritterhof Inn may collect, use, and disclose Personal Data for one or more of the following purposes:
Fulfillment of Reservations or Information Requests: To fulfill your requests, such as completing a credit card transaction or booking a reservation at our hotel through our website’s booking engine, or responding to your requests that we send marketing, informational or other newsletters to you(and to personalize such newsletters to your preferences). For example, when you make a reservation through our website, we may collect your name, address, phone number, email address, and payment information from you and may use and disclose such information to fulfill your reservations, for example, you will receive a confirmation email after booking a room on our website.
Marketing/Promotion Communications: We may use your Personal Data to determine whether you are eligible for and/or inform you, if you have provided your consent, of products, programs, enhancements, events, special offers, and services of Der Ritterhof Inn and third parties that might be of interest to you. We promise to only send you relevant and timely marketing communications, and we will give you the opportunity to decline to receive some or all of these communications every time we send them. If you wish, you can Opt-Out from receiving further communications. Please allow us up to one month to process all data regarding your opt-out request.
Surveys: We may use your Personal Data to conduct or facilitate surveys and ask for your responses to questionnaires to provide better products and services to guests and Site visitors. We may also transmit your completed surveys to third-party service providers and affiliates.
Completion of any surveys or questionnaires is strictly voluntary, and if you wish, you can opt out from receiving further surveys or questionnaire communications from us.
Profiling: We may analyze the Personal Information we have collected about you to create a profile of your interests and preferences so that we can contact you with information that is relevant to you. We may make use of additional information about you when it is available from external sources to help us do this effectively. We may also use Personal Information about you to detect and reduce fraud and credit risk.

We do not share personal information with third parties except where,: (a) it is required or authorized by law (for example, in response to a legal subpoena); (b) it is required to provide you with services you have requested in which case you will be considered to have implied your consent (i.e. Stay and Ski package reservations with Stevens Pass ski resort); (c) if your stay has been paid for by a third party we will provide billing information to the paying party; (d) if you have failed to pay amounts owed to the hotel.
We do not sell personal information to any third party.
If Der Ritterhof Inn suspects any unlawful activity is taking place, it may investigate and/or report its findings or suspicions to the police or other relevant law enforcement agency.
How long is my Personal Information retained?
Your Personal Information will be stored for the period of time required by law in Washington state. It may also be stored indefinitely by Der Ritterhof Inn as long as there is a business purpose for doing so. From time to time, we may delete your Personal Information if you have not stayed with us in a number of years.
Security:
We have employed the following security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of Personal Information under our control. When you enter Personal Information to book a reservation or set up an account, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). In addition, electronically stored Personal Information is stored on a secure network with firewall protection, and access to our electronic information systems requires user authentication via password or similar means. We also employ access restrictions, limiting the scope of employees who have access to Personal Information.
Third-Party Websites:
The Sites may contain links to other websites. We do not control and make no representations whatsoever regarding such other websites or the products and services offered by or through websites accessed through links on the Sites, even those with which we may have an affiliation. If you decide to access third-party websites linked through the Sites, you do so at your own risk. You should carefully review the privacy policy and terms of these websites.
Reservations Through Third Parties:
In addition to making reservations for Properties directly through us, you may make reservations for the Properties through aggregators like Booking.com, Expedia, Orbitz, or Kayak (“Aggregators”). If you use an Aggregator to book reservations at the Properties, they may have different privacy policies, and you are responsible for reviewing them before you make a reservation. If you use another online booking website to reserve lodging at a Property, you do so at your own risk, and you should carefully review the privacy policy and terms of any such websites.
Commercial Electronic Message Consent:
By providing your email address to us through the Sites or entering into a business transaction with one of the Properties, you affirmatively and expressly consent to receive commercial emails from Der Ritterhof Inn and those parties that process email communications on our behalf. Der Ritterhof Inn and these third parties may send you commercial emails in order to deliver the Newsletter, to provide you with more information about available services you have purchased, and to provide you with updates, special offers, and other information, including but not limited to Site updates, guest surveys, and offers or promotions from Der Ritterhof Inn.
Changes to this Privacy Policy:
We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time as we deem necessary or appropriate due to changes in our business practices or changes in the law. If we decide to change this Privacy Policy, we will notify you of any material changes by email or by means of a notice on the Site prior to the changes becoming effective so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
